Asian Cultural Council
(New York, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Manila, Taipei & Tokyo)
From 2005-2008, Rachel served as Fundraising Counsel to the Asian Cultural Council, a Rockefeller operating foundation promoting cultural exchange between the United States and the countries of Asia. During her three-year term, Rachel guided the Trustees and Executive Director in the establishment of an individual development process that included directing and servicing the newly-formed Strategic Planning/Development Committee in ongoing discussions and solicitations concerning fundraising and outreach activities; stewarding its Committee Chairperson and other Trustees on fundraising strategies; creating and maintaining an active major donor prospect list; creating and servicing The Chairman’s Circle, a successful major donor group of 19 members each giving $10,000 annually with a three-year giving cycle; planning and directing a series of quarterly donor cultivation events in Trustees’ homes and a large-scale fundraising and outreach Gala in New York netting $350,000; and traveling with the Board of Trustees to Taiwan and Cambodia for on-site grantee visits, fundraising events, performances and lectures related to the organization’s program.
"You’ve done a great job helping us raise the profile of the Asian Cultural Council, both through your excellent attention to detail and in organizing events and developing fundraising strategies that have highlighted in very effective ways the ACC’s commitment to Asian-American cultural exchange and the importance of its mission."
— Richard S. Lanier, President, Board of Trustees, Asian Cultural Council
President & Executive Director, Trust for Mutual Understanding, 1984-2008

"Your work on behalf of ACC – with careful and thoughtful planning and an insistence that we keep moving ahead – has been productive in terms of money in the bank (or in the hands of deserving grantees!). Just as importantly you – by getting us to focus – have facilitated around our meeting table a much better understanding of just how demanding and persistent fund raising is for any nonprofit. Suffice it to say that I have much enjoyed working with you on the development committee. "
— Russell A. Phillips, Life Trustee, Asian Cultural Council
Former Executive Vice President, Rockefeller Brothers Fund

"Rachel Weintraub gave a major boost to the Asian Cultural Council's efforts to raise its public profile and create a cohesive development plan. Drawing on her substantial experience, she helped lead the ACC on a new course and guided us in establishing the Chairman's Circle, a successful new donor initiative. Her work is always undertaken with great professionalism and care."
— Ralph Samuelson, Director, Asian Cultural Council, 1991-2008
